The Belfry
A View from on high
In the spring of 2014, it became evident that urgent repairs where needed to the Belfry at the United Reform Church in the village of Glanton in Northumberland, UK.
In order to carry-out the repairs scaffolding was needed so as to make access to the Belfry more practical. The Belfry is in a very commanding position high above the village and with excellent views over the houses to the countryside beyond. It was suggested that the scaffolding provided a very good photo opportunity to capture views of the village from a more unusual vantage point and to this end I found myself, complete with camera, climbing the scaffolding to the Belfry on a sunny Easter Saturday.
The following photographs are a small sample of the pictures taken from the Belfry.

After the renovation of the Belfry, the North-point 'N' fell off the weather vane and required the services of a steeplejack to replace it!
